To improve access, drainage and residential amenity in Harcourt Street Nathalia Council is undertaking road urbanisation works. This will involve changing the road layout from the current semi-rural layout to an urban layout which will include underground drainage, kerb and channel, road pavement upgrade and footpaths

The overall project will deliver:

  • Improved drainage infrastructure in the storm water catchment including larger pipes and pits
  • Road surface changed to asphalt to address maintenance concerns and improve ride quality for road users
  • Construct new kerb and channel
  • New footpaths for greater pedestrian accessibility
  • Redesigned street scape included new trees

These works are estimated at $1,200,000, some of which is funded through GVW and the Roads to Recovery program through the Federal Government.

Current Works:
Council is currently undertaking asset relocation works on the existing watermain to enable construction to take place.

Watermain works will start on the week of 20 May 2024 and take six weeks to complete.

Traffic management will be in place at the time to minimise disruption to traffic and ensure a safe worksite for workers and the community.
