Moira Shire Council believes making roads safer is a community effort. Together with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), Council has created a survey for the community to share their experiences, concerns and suggestions regarding road safety.

The community’s feedback is essential in helping create a comprehensive Road Safety Strategy and Action Plan to enhance road safety for all residents and visitors.

Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Graeme Emonson PSM, emphasised the importance of community involvement.

“Community input into developing a local Road Safety Strategy and Action Plan is vital. As a Council, we cannot do this alone. Developing a plan is essential for shaping a safer future on the roads for our region. Together, we can work to reduce the impact, severity and frequency of road accidents,” Dr Emonson said.

The survey is available online until Friday 6 September with hard copies available at Council’s Customer Service Centres.

Council understands that road safety is complex and a sensitive topic for some in the region. To discuss this further, Council will be conducting drop-in sessions in Numurkah and Yarrawonga at the following times.
