Moira Shire Council recognises the significant impact COVID-19 has had on individuals, families and organisations and groups that provide services across the community.

Mayor Libro Mustica said as part of supporting the community to respond to this impact, Council is extending the application period for the Coronavirus Community Recovery Grant program.

“Grants of up to $2,500 are available to eligible not-for-profit community organisations, groups, social enterprises, and creative organisations for project or programs to assist our communities with recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic,” Cr Mustica said.

“Priority will be given to projects that respond to the impact of COVID-19 including changed ways of working to support the introduction and/or recommencement of activities, programs and events in a safe manner.”

Cr Mustica said this special grants program aimed to build the capacity and resilience of communities.

“We are looking for projects that improve health and wellbeing through community engagement, collaborations, innovation, and social connection,” he said.

“If you had a new way to deliver services, programs, events including online or have a project which optimises opportunities for communities to participate, celebrate, and promote local arts, culture and identity then we would love to hear from you.”
