Celebrating our local achievers: Achievers Award Assistance Program
Published on 24 October 2024
Moira Shire Council has recognised the outstanding accomplishments of five local residents at its October Council Meeting, celebrating their achievements through the 2023-2024 Achievers Award Assistance Program.
The Achievers Award Assistance Program offers financial support to residents selected to participate in state, national, or international sporting, cultural, or leadership events, helping to cover the costs of their involvement.
Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM congratulated the recipients and encouraged others in the community to take advantage of this funding opportunity.
"It’s fantastic to see our residents excelling in such diverse fields, from gymnastics and netball to barefoot bowls. We’re proud to provide support through this program to help them pursue their goals,” said Dr Emonson.
“The Achievers Award Assistance Program is available year-round, and we strongly encourage others in the community to apply. More details are available on Council’s website.”
The program provides up to $300 per individual and up to $500 per team if multiple applicants are members of the same team. $2,000 is allocated towards this program annually.
