Community feedback Invited on Draft MoiraVision 2045
Published on 18 March 2025
Moira Shire Council is inviting the community to have their say on MoiraVision 2045, a long-term vision that will guide the future of the region for the next 20 years.
Developed in collaboration with a Community Panel of local residents, the draft vision reflects the aspirations, values, and priorities of the people who live, work and invest in Moira Shire. It sets a clear direction for future planning and decision making, ensuring the region remains thriving, connected, and sustainable.
Council’s Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said community input was essential to shaping a vision that truly represents the region’s needs.
“This vision will influence Council’s strategic planning and priorities for decades to come. We want to make sure it reflects what our community values most,” Dr Emonson said.
The draft MoiraVision 2045 is built around four key themes, Community, Environment, Liveability and Prosperity, aiming to create an inclusive and connected region, protecting natural assets, enhancing infrastructure, and services, and supporting economic growth.
Residents are encouraged to review the draft vision and provide feedback through an online survey. The community can also visit one of four pop-ups to be held in the last week of March in Cobram, Numurkah, Yarrawonga, and Nathalia to have their say.
“This is the community’s opportunity to influence the future of Moira Shire. We encourage everyone to get involved and share their thoughts,” Dr Emonson said.

The Draft Community Vision for 2045
By 2045, we will be:
A thriving, connected regional community.
Our Vision statement is simple, but it is underpinned by broad goals grouped into four themes: Community, Environment, Liveability, Prosperity. As a community if we can deliver on these goals, we’ll reach our vision.
