Have your say on the Yarrawonga JC Lowe Oval Draft Masterplan
Published on 28 May 2024
Future enhancements to Yarrawonga’s JC Lowe Oval are open for community review. A draft masterplan has been prepared to plot out future enhancements for the grounds.
Developed with input from the Community Asset Committee, who manages the reserve on behalf of Council, and local sporting clubs, the draft masterplan identifies a combination of needed and desirable improvements. This includes enhanced playing surfaces, upgraded facilities and safer pedestrian experiences.
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator John Tanner AM said the draft masterplan was a comprehensive roadmap to ensuring improved use of the facilities into the future.
“The JC Lowe Reserve is an iconic facility and location in Yarrawonga, which provides for thousands of locals and visitors alike each year through football, netball, tennis and other recreation uses while also hosting major events of regional and state importance such as Country Week and Easter Tennis Tournaments,” Mr Tanner said.
“Council is eager to gather community feedback on the draft masterplan, to ensure it meets the needs and expectations of the Yarrawonga community and user groups. It’s crucial to receive input to making the reserve a space everyone can enjoy and utilise for many years to come.”
Council’s CEO Matthew Morgan said it was vital to plan for the future of our reserves.
“Plans like this, help us to have conversations with State and Federal Governments about unlocking funds to complete improvements, as Council and community don’t have the capacity to undertake these improvements ourselves.”
The consultation period is open until Friday 14 June, community can share their feedback on the Moira Matters website, www.moiramatters.com.au/yarrawonga-jc-lowe-oval-masterplan or calling our Customer Service Team for assistance with the online platform via (03) 5871 9222.
