Nominations are closing soon for the Moira Shire Achiever Awards, designed to celebrate local people, events, projects and organisations that show outstanding achievement in their field and dedication to their community.

Returning for a third year in 2025, the awards recognise the stars of Moira who help drive positive change in our community.

Nominations are open to everyone residing in Moira Shire, with the awards to be presented at a gala evening on April 16.

The five categories include:

  • Star Achiever of the Year
  • YoungStar Achiever of the Year (up to 16 years of age)
  • Shining Star Achiever of the Year (16-24 years of age)
  • Community Star Achiever of the Year (event or organisation)
  • ACEStar Achiever of the Year (arts/culture/environment project)

Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said the awards were a fantastic opportunity to celebrate excellence in the community.

“After recognising some really outstanding nominees in 2023 and 2024, we are really pleased to see the Achievers Awards being held again in 2025 to highlight the people in our region who go above and beyond,” Dr Emonson said.

“The awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the success of people who often work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring new ideas and events to Moira, or in service to community groups or clubs.

“It would be great to see a large number of nominations, so I encourage people to consider those in their networks or groups who should be recognised for their efforts.”

Nominations close on Sunday 16 March. Visit Council’s website for more information or to nominate.
