Moira Biz Aid supports businesses

Moira Shire Council has launched a special funding opportunity to assist businesses that have been financially impacted by COVID-19.
Mayor Libro Mustica said this funding was specifically for businesses to access professional support services and was encouraging them to apply for Moira Biz Aid to better their business’s position.
“Feedback from our business community has provided insight into the effects COVID-19 has had on most industries in our shire with some businesses losing between 30 to 90% of their income for periods of time,” Cr Mustica said.
“Our Economic Development Department is offering businesses the opportunity to receive up to $1,000 in professional services support through a series of one to one sessions.
“Moira Biz Aid will give financial support to businesses wishing to access professional support for things such as bookkeeping, accounting, software training, profit and loss statements, business planning and Tax and BAS requirements among others.
“The program offers support that some businesses may not be able to afford until their cash flow position improves.
“Although businesses have adapted through this difficult time, Council is wanting to support them to bounce back faster.”
Applications are now open for Moira Biz Aid funding and closes on 7 May.
