Shining stars of Moira celebrated at Achiever Awards

The spirit of community was on full display at the 2025 Moira Achiever Awards, which recognised outstanding locals for their dedication, leadership and impact.

Now in its third year, the annual awards continue to grow, recognising the everyday heroes who go above and beyond to support others and strengthen the fabric of community life across the Shire.

Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said the event highlighted well- deserved recognition for community members who make a positive impact in often quiet and consistent ways.

“From young leaders, emergency responders, and community educators to instrumental sporting volunteers, the recipients embody the spirit of Moira Shire, inspiring others to engage, contribute, and make a difference.”

“I’d like to congratulate Dario, Nikita, Cedric, the Cobram SES and the Numurkah and District Historical Society on their well-deserved awards – they really demonstrate selfless community service and are an inspiration to us all to continue working to make our communities better places.

“I would like to also acknowledge all of the wonderful nominees for this year’s awards, which truly reflects the breath of passion and dedication we have in our communities.”

“It's also heartening to see our younger residents stepping up and being recognised for their efforts. The passion and innovation shown by our young awardees signal a bright future for Moira Shire, where community involvement and leadership continue to thrive.”
