Yarrawonga Showgrounds Masterplan feedback needed
Published on 29 October 2021
Moira Shire Council is developing a new Master Plan for the Yarrawonga Showground/Victoria Park precinct and we are calling for feedback from interested community members.
Mayor Libro Mustica said the Master Plan would guide the precinct’s development, planning, budgeting and funding for the next ten years with independent consultants engaged for this project.
“This plan will look at the whole site in order to establish what is valued about the present facilities and features plus set priorities for future upgrades,” Cr Mustica said.
“We will be using a combination of information gained from survey responses, emails directly to the consultants, and a number of workshops with current user groups and stakeholders to develop the plan.”
To start the process for developing a new Master Plan, Council is asking the community to describe how they already use the facilities in the precinct.
“We want to know how often you might visit the Showground or Victoria Park, what your main reasons are for visiting and which part of the precinct do you use the most,” Cr Mustica said.
“We also want to know what improvements we could make to the precinct if funding was available.
“Once we receive and collate the responses to this community survey, as well as the thoughts and ideas garnered through the stakeholder and user group workshops, a draft Master Plan can be developed which will then go out for a further round of public consultation.”
